RICHARD T. BRAY

January 3, 1941 ~ March 12, 2017 (age 76) 76 Years Old


Richard T. Bray Sr. 76, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Richard, had most recently been living with his daughter in Coventry for the past year, but was formerly from Smithfield and Cranston.
Born in Providence, he was the loving son of his adoptive parents James and Cecilia (Simpson) Bray. He was the biological son of Pasquale DiLorenzo and Catherine Simpson.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of many years, Valorianne (Lenardo) Bray. He was the father of the late Richard T. Bray Jr.. Mr. Bray is survived by his four daughters and one son. Madeline Olsen and her husband Teddy of Coventry, James Bray and his wife Sonia of Scituate, Gloria Bray of Warwick, Gianna D'Christofaro of Cranston, and Sheena Bray and her husband CJ of Greenville. He was also the step father to Kimberly Leblanc and her husband Marc of Smithfield.
He was the brother to the late Geraldine (Bray) Reynolds and the late Constance (Collins) Allen. 
He is survived by 4 sisters and 2 brothers. Patricia DiLorenzo of Burrillville, Tina Correia of North Providence, Carola DiLorenzo of OR, Debra Holman of CA, Edward DiLorenzo of Providence, and Joseph DiLorenzo of Cranston.
Mr. Bray also leaves behind 18 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. 
Richard was a builder for over 50 years before retiring. In later years, you could find him at his food truck, Papa Pasquale's, cooking up his famous sausage and peppers along with many other treats at the Saint Mary's Feast in Cranston. In his younger years he was a volunteer firefighter in Warwick. He was an avid hunter and was a member of the Little Rhody Beagle Club for many years. He also enjoyed archery and held the state championship for his age group for several years at Tangy's Indoor Archery Lanes.
Funeral will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017, 10 AM from the Jones Walton Sheridan Funeral Home, 1895 Broad St, Cranston, RI 02905, with a Funeral Service at 11AM in the home. Burial will be in St Ann's Cemetery, Cranston, RI
