Roman Nunez Jr, 47, passed away at home in Wesley Chapel, Florida, on Saturday, January 24, 2015. He was born in Manhattan, NY, but had lived in Providence from the age of 12 until 2007. He had been employed by American Eagle at T.F. Green airport for many years before becoming ill.
He was the proud father of Andy Nunez and the beloved son of Roman and Caridad Nunez. He is also survived by his grandmother, Maria Lopez, older siblings, Sobeida and Freddy Nunez, younger siblings, Wanda Rego, Selso and Nanette Nunez and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Junior loved animals, especially horses, and as a young adult had spent some time on his grandfather's farm in the Dominican Republic. He was a well accomplished martial artist, played baseball on a Dominican league in Providence and enjoyed meeting with friends on the basketball court. He was a huge Yankees fan, loved listening to Elvis, watching action and animation films and old martial arts movies. He will be remembered for his laughter, joking around, and his teasing ways.
