Robert Bradshaw Obituary

Bradshaw, Robert G.
Robert (Bud) Gorton Bradshaw, 83, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2021. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late William G. Bradshaw and Carolyne (Hill) Nourse. Bud was predeceased by his wife, Ellen-Ann (Wayss), his son, Christopher Charles and sister Carole Alden (Bradshaw) Carter. He is survived by his daughter, Roberta (Jim) Zimmerly, loving grandchildren, Christopher and Grace and his daughter-in-law Ruth-Ellen Bradshaw. He leaves behind his brother, William Bradshaw and sister, Nancy Harter, sister-in-law and caregiver, Mary Christine Wayss, as well as many nieces and nephews.
After graduating from Hope High School, in Providence, Bud served in the United States Navy, as Petty Officer 3rd
Class, specializing in fuel systems and propellers on the USS Ranger out of Alameda, California. He continued his service in the Merchant Marines as a ship mate and often shared stories of his world travels. He worked for Electric Boat as a welder and pipe fitter at Quonset Point for 20 years, Cranston Public Library, William Hall Branch and the Scandinavian Home. After he retired, Bud enjoyed participating in many of the enriching actives at the Cranston Senior Enrichment Center through the Adult Day Program, and because of his enthusiasm, he was often asked to assist in leading group activities.
Bud loved life, the ocean, an adventure, a fried egg sandwich, a cold beer, cards, sports, all fur friends, a hard candy, trivia, a bad joke, rock and roll but above all, his family, unconditionally.
