Madeline Marie Habib
January 2, 1945-January 3, 2026
Warwick, RI - Madeline Habib, a woman defined by her devotion to her family, her faith and the beauty she cultivated in the world around her, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family following a life rich in love and service. She was 81 years old.
Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, on January 2, 1945 , Madeline was the daughter of the late Georgina (Souza-Resendes) and Jamiel Habib. She was predeceased by her beloved sister, Barbara.
Madeline’s greatest joy was her 62 year marriage to her devoted husband Norman Habib. Together they built a life centered on family in Warwick, RI. She was the proud mother of Kevin Habib (Patty) and Michele Sullivan (Tim), all of Warwick. Her warmth and spirit also leave a lasting mark on her many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends who will miss her vibrant presence.
Madeline had an extraordinary eye for detail and a passion for creating “home.” She took immense pride in her residence in New Hampshire, which she meticulously decorated with a rustic cabin theme that reflected her love for the outdoors. Her sense of adventure took her on many travels, including memorable trips to Branson and Pigeon Forge, places she and Norman enjoyed visiting many times.
Closer to home, Madeline was known for her elaborate holiday displays. She transformed her house for every season, ensuring that every holiday was met with beauty and celebration.
A true “green thumb,” Madeline’s love for flowers and gardens was more than a hobby; it was a gift to her community. As a dedicated member of the Chatham Village Garden Club she used her horticultural talents to make her neighborhood a more beautiful place to live.
Madeline was a parishioner of St George’s Maronite Church and a member of the Ladies Sodality. Her faith as well as her love for her family made her a very special part of many people’s lives and she will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held January 9th, Friday from 9:00-11:30 AM, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:30 AM at the Jones-Walton-Sheridan Funeral Home, 1895 Broad St. at Park Ave., Cranston.
