John E. Geremia Obituary

John Edward Geremia, 45, of North Providence, a Journeyman Lineman, passed away on February 4, 2021, at home. Born in Providence, he was the beloved son of Carolyn (Walsh) and Todd Tinkham of Edgewood, and John L. Geremia of East Greenwich.
John was raised in Edgewood and was a 1993 graduate of Cranston High School East. He was a member of the IBEW Local 104 where he was a Journeyman Lineman. He spent a great deal of time traveling around the country, assisting areas that were hard-hit by storms in restoring power. He was part of a team that was deployed for over a month to Biloxi, MS after Hurricane Katrina in 2003, as well as San Juan, PR after Hurricane Maria in 2017. John was an avid Celtics, Red Sox, and Patriots fan and enjoyed attending games and watching on TV whenever possible. John loved dogs. His late bulldog, Frank, was always by his side and he leaves behind his beloved “Lady” aka “The Weez.” His latest hobby was to spend time fishing with his grandson at Lincoln Woods.
In addition to his parents, John is survived by his daughter Alexis and her fiancé Joseph Pupella of Warwick; siblings Erin Woodside (Gil) of Warwick, Jennifer Fuvich (Peter) of Coventry, Michael Geremia (Jessica) of Wakefield, and Matthew Tinkham of Baltimore, MD; five nieces and nephews, Nicole and Andrew Fuvich, Madison Dowling, and Jocelyn and Hazel Geremia; five aunts and uncles, Edward J. and Ilona Walsh of Castro Valley, CA, Michael Walsh of Edgewood, Deborah Walsh-Kane and Alan Kane of Attleboro, MA, Barbara (Walsh) and Stephen Egan of Warwick, and Joseph and Paige Walsh of Saunderstown, as well as many cousins. He also leaves the grandson that brought him pure joy, Jaxon Pupella.  John was the grandson of the late Hope (Mooney) and Edward J. Walsh, and the late Anna (Esposito) and Luigi Geremia.
