John J. Gilroy III

John J. Gilroy III, 69 of South Kingstown, passed away at The Miriam Hospital on June 23, 2023. He was the husband of Donna (Banks) Gilroy. Born in Providence, a son of the late John J. Gilroy Jr. and Helen (Dillon) Gilroy. He was the brother of Paul and Mark Gilroy and the late David Gilroy, uncle of Amanda, Molly and Mark Gilroy Jr. and Patrick, Evan, Dane and Chase Gilroy.

John was a construction executive for Gilbane Building Company for 20 years and prior to that for Marshall Contractors (now Fluor Corporation) for 20 years. John was an avid golfer and longtime member and past president of Quidnessett Country Club in North Kingstown.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 28th at 9:00 am from the Jones-Walton-Sheridan Funeral Home, 1895 Broad Street at Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by a mass of Christian burial celebrated at St. Paul’s Church, 1 Warwick Ave., Cranston at 10:00 am. Burial at Pawtuxet Memorial Park. Calling hours are Tuesday, June 27th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in John’s name to the Lustgarten Foundation, for pancreatic cancer research.
