James E. McCreery

James E. McCreery, 72, of Glocester, died August 10, 2026, at HopeHealth Hospice in Providence. Born in Providence a son of the late James and Clara (Jaquard) McCreery Puhacz  

James McCreery, a true embodiment of potential, grew up in South Side, where he lived life to the fullest. As a key member of the South Side Boys Club, he spun tracks that brought people together, also a radio station. Studying photography, science and history at CCRI, James transformed his passions into a life of creation, Jem Co. his innovative construction company he built more than just houses – He built legacies. James loved his and all classic cars and motorcycles. His impact is survived by his brother Charles “Chuck” McCreery, sister Linda Lufkin, newly reunited sister Josie, son Jimmy McCreery and daughter Alicia McCreery, grandfather of Emily, Jimmy McCreery and Levi and Helen McDonald, who inherit his legacy of love and determination.

Funeral Friday at 10:00 AM at the Jones-Walton-Sheridan Funeral Home, 1895 Broad St., Cranston, R.I. Burial will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston, RI
