HENRY C. MAINE, JR.

Henry C. Maine Jr.(CFD Ret.) 85 of North Fort Myers, FL, formerly of Cranston, RI, passed away on February 24, 2016 in Cape Coral, FL.  He was the loving husband for 61 years of the late Jean A. (Eichenfeldt) Maine and son of the late Henry C. Maine Sr. (PFD Ret.) and Madeline (Holman) Maine.

Born in Providence, Henry served on the Cranston Fire Department for 35 years before retiring in 1990 as Assistant Chief.  He was an active member of St. Francis Xavier Church, Ft. Myers, FL and formerly of St. Paul Church, Edgewood, RI.

He leaves behind four children: Cheryl A. Harris of Weymouth, MA, Thomas H. Maine of  Richmond, VA, Susan J. Cowart of Ft. Myers, FL and Henry C. Maine III of Cranston, RI, eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was also the grandfather of the late Sarah J. Maine.  Henry was the brother of Daniel Maine (PFD Ret.), Barbara Burgess, Sally Grayson, Herbert Maine (PFD Ret.), and Kathleen Maine also the late Walter Wall (CFD Ret.), William Maine (CFD Ret.), Marie Gallant and Joan Gannon.

Funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:00AM from the Jones-Walton-Sheridan funeral home 1895 Broad Street at Park Avenue Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10:00AM at St. Paul Church, One St. Paul Place Cranston.  Burial will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston, RI.  Visiting hours will be Friday from 4-7PM www.jwsfh.com
