Francis T. Maher Obituary

In Providence, March 26, 2022. Francis “Frank” Maher, Jr., a resident of Exeter, RI was born and raised in East Bridgewater, MA, son of the late Janet Lawrence, and Francis “Tom” Maher Sr. Frank graduated from East Bridgewater High School in 1984. Frank was married to the late Kathleen Maher and resided in Exeter, RI. He enjoyed gardening, the outdoors, and the family beach house in Westerly, RI.

Frank was an active participant in Rhode Island state government including serving two terms as a Rhode Island State Senator for District 34, and a long-time member of the Exeter West Greenwich School Committee and Exeter Town Council.

Frank is survived by his son Patrick Maher of Exeter, RI, his fiancée Susan Swarcz-Swiader of Exeter, RI, his brother Christopher Maher and his mother Christina Maher, both of Weymouth, MA. The family would like to thank all his friends, doctors, and medical professionals who supported and cared for him.

Memorial services will be held privately.
