Frances Dunn Obituary

Frances A. Dunn passed away peacefully on April 11, 2023 surrounded by family, friends, and Hospice caregivers. Born in Providence she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Myrtle (Harris) Dunn. She is survived by her sister Valerie Dunn (Jay Gendron) of Landisville, Pennnsylvania, her brother John Dunn (Eileen) of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Buddy her notorious cat.

Fran was an artist and entrepreneur who had attended RISD and she always had time for friends and family.

Fran loved her garden, her yard, and all her pets. If you walked past her porch, her cushioned wicker furniture and swing were there for you to just sit and have a chat. Coffee included!

Her professional career included: State of RI Head of Processing within the library system, The Kinney Company/Sales Manager, The Spencer Company/National Sales Manager, and an Independent Manufacturers Representative for National Markets dealing in gold and silver for RI and NY Companies. Fran owned and operated her own retail Gift Store which specialized in jewelry, flowers, and gifts. The store was located in Historic Pawtuxet Village and was featured in Yankee Magazine.

Her last endeavor was as a licensed Rhode Island Realtor.

She was a descendent of Roger Williams on her grandfather’s direct line and a direct descendant of three of the original settlers in Pawtuxet.
