Edward J. Deshaies, 84 of Sun City Center, FL passed away July 20, 2016 at home with his loving wife and family at his side. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and retired from the Providence Gas Company after 30 years of service. He was a Knight of Columbus and a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his three sisters, Thelma Alba, Jean Arrico and Joan Deshaies. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Marie, a son, Donald (Clotilde Melo) Deshaies, two daughters, Diane (Griffith) Williams and Michelle Schmidt, six grandchildren, Erica Stackhouse, Amber Peluso, Madison, Jacob and Michael Schmidt and Roger Melo, four great granddaughters, Jada and Andreya Stackhouse and Nora and Lena Peluso and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Friday, August 12, 2016, at 10:00 AM from the Jones-Walton-Sheridan Funeral Home, 1895 Broad St. At Park Ave. Cranston, followed by a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Mary Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston at 11:00 A.M.

Military honors will be performed at the conclusion of the Mass.

Calling Hours Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 4:00-7:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to LifePath Hospice, 3725 Upper Creek Drive, Ruskin, Fla 33573 or Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 12502 U.S.F. Pine Drive, Tampa, FL 33612.
