Stachkunas, David P., of Cranston passed away on February 27, 2026 at Hope and Heath Palliative Care. He leaves his wife Linda Z. Deignan. He was the son of the late Adolph A and Genevieve (Kordek) Stachkunas.
Mr. Stachkunas leaves behind two sons, Benjamin D. and Micah Stachkunas, a sister Caren Barry, a brother Brian Stachkunas and two grandchildren. He leaves many wonderful and loving cousins.
Prior to his retirement, David was employed by the Boy Scouts of America in Connecticut, New York and New Jersey. He was a sixty year veteran of the BSA.
He paid his dues to his country with three tours of duty in Vietnam. He never figured out why he went there. He graduated from The College of Holy Cross.
He was a life member of Disabled American Veterans and Kelly-Gazzaro Post and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons.
An avid Red Sox fan, Mr. Stachkunas had visited every Major League Baseball park in the United States, plus 35 Minor League parks
Donations in his memory may be made to Edgewood Congregational Church, 1788 Broad St., Cranston, RI 02905 for the Edgewood food bank. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the church. Please visit:JWSFH.COM
