Charles Edward Smith, 57, formerly of Greenwich Village Apartments, Warwick, passed away on December 1, 2007. He was born in Providence, son of the late Frank T. and Mildred L. (Johnson) Smith.
Charlie was cheerful, had a good sense of humor, helpful to others, he was a people person. He was an avid bowler, loved music, dancing, books, boats, a good meal and Dunkin Donuts Coffee.
Charlie worked at the J. Arthur Trudeau Center, Patterson Workshop in Warwick and Electric Boat in North Kingstown.
With all the love, guidance and support from the Trudeau Center and Staff, Charlie was able to live a very fulfilling life in the community.
Charlie is survived by his longtime friend and companion Patty Ferris. Brother of Frank T. Smith, E. Providence, R. James Smith, Wetumpka, AL, Norman J. Smith, Foster, Patricia Shakel, E. Providence, Janet Quackenbush, Foster, Mildred V. Anthony, Warwick and the late Thomas C. Smith.
Funeral Wednesday at 9:00am from the Jones-Walton-Sheridan Funeral Home, 1895 Broad St., at Park Ave., Cranston with a Funeral Service at 10:00am in Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1817 Warwick Ave., Warwick.
Calling hours Tuesday 6-9pm.
Burial will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to J. Arthur Trudeau Center, 3445 Post Rd., Warwick, RI 02886.
