Bridget M. Hjerpe Obituary

Bridget M. “Bridgie” Hjerpe, 37, of Cranston, passed away on Thursday, March 10 at Roger Williams Hospital. She was the daughter of Carl E. and Susan M. Hjerpe of Cranston, RI.  Bridget was born on August 5, 1984 and grew up in Edgewood, RI.  She was a graduate of La Salle Academy, Providence and RI College, School of Social Work, Providence. Bridget was employed as a social worker for the RI Department of Children, Youth and Family.

Besides her parents, Bridget is survived by her brothers, Carl E. Hjerpe Jr., and his wife Katie, Eric W. and his wife Christine, and Michael P. and his fiancé Kayla Phillips.  She was the loving aunt of Carl, Tommy, Libby and Mya. Bridget was also the loving companion of Michael Fontaine, Worcester, MA.  Bridget will be missed by her many aunts, uncles and cousins, and her favorite Mr. Bojangles.

Her funeral will be held Thursday, March 17 at 9 a.m. from Jones-Walton-Sheridan Funeral Home, 1895 Broad St. at Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Paul Church, Cranston. Burial will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick. Visiting hours on Wednesday, from 4-7 p.m. at Jones Walton Sheridan Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Paul Church, 30 Warwick Ave., Cranston, or to Rhode Island College Foundation in support of the School of Social Work. Link on bottom of page.
