Bernard "Bucky" E. Mendes

Mendes, Bernard E. “Bucky”, 67, died November 6, 2020, after a 17 year long illness with cancer. He was the husband of Irene (Vernon) Mendes. A lifelong resident of Providence, son of the late Joseph and Beatrice (McCloud) Mendes. Bucky was a roofer working for Local # 33 for 25 years. He enjoyed working in carpentry and was an avid fisherman. Besides his wife he leaves a step-daughter Susan Miller and her husband Bob, a brother Joseph Mendes, sisters Gertrude Mendes and Nellie Neves, grandfather of Samantha Black and Ty Miller, great grandfather of Charlee Black also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Sylvester and Bernard DeBarros.

Funeral Saturday 8:00 AM from the Jones-Walton-Sheridan Funeral Home, 1895 Broad St., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM at St. Michael Church, Oxford St., Providence. Burial will be Private. Visitation Saturday morning 7:45-8:30 AM.
