Biography

Kelly, Barbara A. (Fitzpatrick), 71, a resident of Waite Ave., Edgewood for many years, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2007, after an extended struggle with Alzheimer 's disease.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Hugh W. and Barbara (Jackson) Fitzpatrick.
Barbara was a graduate of St. Paul's School, and graduated at the top of her class at St. Xavier High School. After raising her family, she returned to college and graduated with honors from RI College.
She worked as a waitress for many years at the Conversations Restaurant and the former Golden Lantern. Intelligent and personable, she excelled at her work. More so, her work gave her flexibility to be at home to raise her six children and to care for her own mother in her mother's later years.
An avid bowler, Barbara was a member of St. Paul's Women's Bowling League and there, she formed many lasting friendships. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking and travel. A talented dancer, Barbara continued to enjoy dance and music well after the onset of her illness. A woman of enormous warmth and energy, she always gave support to those in need. Most of all, she was a devoted mother and grandmother, and the beloved center of her family circle.
She was the mother of David H. Kelly of Warwick, Joseph A. Kelly of Parrish, FL, Kathleen M. Kelly-Sullivan of Narragansett, Barbara K. Wheaton of Yarmouth, ME and Kristen K. Ciambrone of Sudbury, MA, and the late Dale J. Kelly, Jr.; sister of Hugh W. Fitzpatrick, Jr. of Coventry, Joseph E. Fitzpatrick of Johnston, Paula M. McKeever of Cranston and the late Robert P.
