William E. Oliveira, Sr., 80, of Pawtucket, formerly of Greene and Riverside passed away peacefully Friday, June 28, 2019, with his loving family at his side. He was the husband of Enid M. (Cofran) Oliveira, they had been married for over 56 years. Born in Fall River, MA, he was a son of the late Seraphin V. and Mary (Miranda) Oliveira.
Bill was a Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. He also was a former Harbor Master for the City of East Providence and was a member of the Ionic Lodge #28 in Greene, RI. An avid golfer and tennis player, he enjoyed all sports. He also was an adept woodworker and enjoyed birdwatching and fishing.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a son; William E. Oliveira, Jr. (Lori) of Seekonk, two daughters; Kelly J. Perry (Charles) of Coventry and Cathleen A. Oliveira and her long-time companion Dunn Beckett of Pawtucket. He was also the loving and proud Papa of Brittany Oller, Courtney Oliveira, Caitlin Oliveira, Brittany, Mykaila and Alexis Perry, and number one fan and great-grandfather of Colten Jacques. He also leaves his life-long confidant, friend and brother Robert Oliveira of Coventry, as well as many nieces, nephews and countless people who were fortunate to have called him a friend. He was the brother of the late Beverly Gillespie.
Calling hours to which family and friends are invited will be held on Friday, July 5th., from 4 to 7 pm., a Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 pm. Burial will be private.
