Raymond E. Erban Jr. “Skip”, 66, passed away peacefully, December 21, 2018 at his home in Warwick. Born in Providence, he was the son of (late) Raymond Erban Sr. and (late) Leona Barden (Camire); and the stepson of Claudette Erban (Johnston), and James Barden.
Raymond is survived by his children; Jeffery Erban of West Warwick, and his wife, Danielle; Lisa “Elle” Erban of Coventry and her partner Edward Faubert Jr; David Erban of Warwick; and Steven Erban of West Warwick and his wife, Sharon. He is also survived by his siblings; Linda Czop of West Warwick, and her husband Greg; Dianne Varr of Georgetown, MA, and her husband Tom Tetrault; Jeanne DeSantis of Warwick, and her husband David; James Barden of Coventry, and his wife Cathy; Timothy Barden of Costa Mesa, California. He was predeceased by his brother, Michael Erban. He also leaves 7 grandchildren, 12 nieces and nephews, and 6 great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his lifelong best friend, Michael Chase of Warwick.
He graduated from Pilgrim High School in the class of 1970. He served in the United States Army from 1972-1974, stationed in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He was later employed as a technician by Davol Plastics for many years before retiring from Nordson EFD.
Skip was an avid reader, a collector of rare coins, and he inherited the love of all kinds of puzzles from his late father. He was a true sports fan, favoring the New York Yankees and the New England Patriots. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, quick wit, and belief that “Life is Good”.
Funeral service with military honors will be Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Jones-Walton-Sheridan Funeral Home, 1895 Broad St. at Park Ave, Cranston, RI.
