Adda Casey

Adda Casey passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 18, 2019, just three months away from her 100th birthday.  Her sweet, gentle nature will be missed by all of us. We are comforted by knowing that she is now very much enjoying her long-awaited reunion with all those who got to heaven before her.

Adda joined her husband, William J. Casey, two sisters, Anna (Dottie) and Lucille, brother Fred, pet dog Bobo, and many other family members and friends that have been waiting for her in heaven.  

Adda and William were married for 48 loving years.  She has always been a loving Mom to her two children, Brian Casey and Maureen Casey (Finley), and ‘the best mother-in-law ever’ to son-in-law, Timothy Finley.   She has also been a loving grandmother (Nana) to three grandsons, William Casey, David Finley and Kyle Finley.  In July 2019 she became a great-grandmother to baby Evalin Alice Casey.  

Adda (Mom, Nana, Grandma, Mama Adda) was a gentle, loving soul who, even toward the end of life, was ever ready to give and receive big loving hugs.  She maintained great strength of body and spirit until the end.  Son-in-law, Tim, called her the energizer bunny who kept going and going until her battery finally ran out of juice.  We are happy that the last thing she ate before she passed on was her favorite food, ice cream.

Funeral Monday at 9 AM from the Jones-Walton-Sheridan Funeral Home, 1895 Broad St., Cranston, RI followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Paul Church, 1 Warwick Ave., Cranston, RI at 10 AM. Burial at R I Veterans Cemetery, Exeter, RI

Calling hours Sunday 3-5 PM. 

In the last years of life Adda Casey received care from two wonderful, loving home health aides who became like family to us.  Therefore, we would like to show our appreciation to Ann and Florence.  If you would like to donate, please make checks out to Maureen Finley or Timothy Finley, with a note in the memo section that reads Caregiver Appreciation Fund.
