Karl Wayss Obituary

Karl E. Wayss, 49, of East Providence, passed away unexpectedly on November 17, 2022. He was the son of Judith (Netto) Wayss and the late Paul “Buck” D. Wayss. He is survived by his children, Amanda, Bethany, Stephen and Samantha. He leaves behind his sisters, Paula Dudukovich and her husband, Andrew and Mary M. Wayss and his niece, Rachel Katherine and nephew, Drew “Drewski”, as well aunts and uncles and many cousins. He is also survived by his fiancé, Tracy Filipkowski and his service dog, Kai.

Born and raised in Warwick, RI, Karl graduated from Warwick Veterans Memorial High School. He attended New England Institute of Technology. He was an altar server and communicant of St. Timothy’s Church.

An avid New England sports fan, growing up Karl enjoyed hockey, basketball and baseball. He coached girls’ softball in Warwick. He loved to camp and learned many of those skills through the Boy Scouts of America, fishing, country music and road trips. He was a volunteer EMT/firefighter. His happiest moments were spent with family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Paul Church, 1 Warwick Ave., Edgewood, Cranston Friday at 10:30 AM

Visitation at The Jones-Walton-Sheridan Funeral Home, 1895 Broad St., at Park Ave. Cranston, Friday morning from 8:30-9:45 AM   Inurnment will be private.
