Grace E. Miley Obituary

Grace E. Miley of Edgewood passed away
on February 5, 2021 at the age of 96.
She was born in Woonsocket, daughter of the late
William H. and Viola (Muheim) Bradley and sister
of the late Henry, Robert & Raymond Bradley.
Grace was the beloved wife of the late
Edmund B. Miley, Sr. for 45 years.
She is survived by her 4 children,
Catherine A. Grimm (Mark) of Warwick,
Timothy P., Edmund B, Jr. and William B. Miley
all of California. Grace was the grandmother of 6:
Rory Graham, Kristin Hanson, David and Cara Grimm,
and Monique and Liam Miley.
She was the great-grandmother of 2, Jude and Addie
with another one due to be born this week.
After graduating from Woonsocket H.S.
she maintained lifelong friendships with 5 other
classmates who met every month until they
were in their eighties.
Grace met Ed at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet in 1950.
They were married two years later and lived in
Washington Park for a decade before
moving to Edgewood in 1965. Despite the poverty
they grew up with during the depression,
having lost their fathers at a young age,
they were able to create a comfortable life for their family.
Grace was a caring homemaker. She did everything
from baking goodies and sewing to painting,
wallpapering and decorating. Grace worked at
General Electric as a payroll clerk for 15 years.
She loved her job.
When she retired, Grace and Ed would spend winter months
in California visiting their sons.
Grace was active well into her early 90s,
still a member of a bowling league. She
played Scrabble and cribbage at Pilgrim Senior Center
and knitted prayer shawls for St. Paul’s Church.
She also attended Cranston adult day care in 2019 and 2020.
Grace was able to stay in her home until Thanksgiving
thanks to the love and devotion of her many caretakers
including Diane, Eva, Gina, Jordan, Marissa,
Crystal, Christine, Ndeye and Betty.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to
Jones - Walton - Sheridan, 1895 Broad St.
Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited to
a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Paul’s Church
at 10 AM on Saturday. In lieu of flowers,
contributions can be made to St. Paul’s Church,
1 St. Paul Place, Cranston, RI 02905.
