Dolores (Scarduzio) Dacey, 90, of Warwick, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2024. She was born in Providence to the late Michael and Olga (Oliveri) Scarduzio. She was preceded in death by her sister Norma (Joseph) Gormley and her husband James Dacey. She is survived by her children, Cheryl (Ayers) Petteruti, Edward Dacey, and Robert Ayers. She was the loving grandmother of nine grandchildren. She also leaves behind a close-knit family of beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Dolores attended Central High School and worked at her father’s jewelry shop in Providence, Rhode Island. She later went on to have a proud career at the Providence Journal.
Dolores loved watching golf and her beloved Red Sox. She enjoyed bowling and was an expert bolo bat player. She could often be found having dinner at Twin Oaks and Angelo’s, re-applying her red lipstick, or staying at home with her family. She was famous for her chicken cutlets, fried doughboys, and oversized meatballs.
We will miss her sharp wit and her ever-present care and concern for her family. Dolores’ deep reservoir of love fueled her family’s strength and shielded them from life’s many storms.
