October 16, 1943 ~ January 19, 2017 (age 73) 73 Years Old

Robert M. Gubala, Sr., 73, of Pawtucket, entered into the heavenly banquet, joining his Mom, Dad, Grandson, Grandmother, and Uncles as he passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at his home on Wednesday, January 18.

A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Matthew J. and Phyllis E. (Wagner) Gubala.

He interests were many, and he wore numerous hats during his lifetime.  An accomplished percussionist he and his brother played at many Polish Picnics, Weddings and Anniversaries all over New England during the 1950's and early 1960's. He had served the citizens of the City of Pawtucket as a Patrolman from 1965 to 1972 and later ran a successful general contracting business.  Finally, after many years he put his energies and experience to work running a security guard and detective agency.  But by far his proudest moments came upon the achievements of his children and grandchildren, whom he loved beyond measure.

He leaves three sons; the Most Reverend Robert Matthew Gubala and his wife Nancy, Mark E. Gubala, Aaron C. Gubala and his wife Amy, a daughter; June C. Gubala-Stowik and her companion Alex Arteaga, and his former wife Ardeen B. Cartier, all of Pawtucket, as well as a brother; Frank J. Gubala of Florida, also former son-in-law Steven J. Stowik, Sr.

He was also the loving and proud Dziadziu of Steven J. and Angel J Stowik, Summer Stowik-Arteaga, Aaron C. Jr., and Augustin R. Gubala as well as the late Asher Jacob Gubala and his other grandbabies which are in heaven.
