ROBERT WEEDEN

   WEEDEN, Robert (Bob), 75 of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 27, 2015.  He was the husband of the late Agnes (Murray) Weeden. 

   Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Amos and Margaret (Devine) Weeden.

   Bob served in the US Army and the Army Reserves for over 26 years.  He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War.  He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Parachute and Sharpshooter M-16 Badge.  Before retiring, he worked as an Executive Chef at St Elizabeth’s Nursing Home.  Bob was an avid golfer and loved watching the Yankees and the Redskins.  Bob was a friend of Bill W and a “brother” to many.

  Bob leaves 5 Children and their Spouses: Janis Mello; Marilyn and Ron Moline; Ron Ansell; Jackie and Bud Forrest; and John and Ann Ansell; his 8 Grandchildren and their Spouses; 11 Great Grandchildren and many Nieces and Nephews.  He is survived by his Sisters Hope Votta, Barbara Wyatt and Elizabeth Delicio and was the Brother of the late Dorothy Chase, Richard Weeden, Joan Chase and Mary Bonetti.

   A celebration of life will be held at the Jones-Walton-Sheridan Funeral Home, 1895 Broad Street Cranston, RI on Monday, February 2, from 9 – 11 AM, immediately followed by a Catholic blessing and Military Honors.  Bob will be laid to rest at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery Exeter, RI.
