MARIA A. LOPEZ

Maria A. Lopez was born in the Dominican Republic on September 16, 1919. She was married for 72 years to the late Jose M. Lopez. She was the mother of the late Ramon D. Lopez, Rosa Cristina Lopez and Salvador Lopez and is survived by her remaining 8 children, Francisco Lopez, Caridad Nunez, Maria Moreno, Rafael Eduardo Lopez, Julio Lopez, Ramon R. Lopez, Jose A. Lopez, Braulio Lopez, and all of their spouses whom she loved as her own children. She was dearly loved by her 21 grandchildren and many great grandchildren as well.
She came to America in 1970 in which she first lived in New York and then Rhode Island for many years until she moved to Florida 8 years ago. 
She made everyone laugh with her side comments and funny jokes and always made others feel special by cooking them favorite foods or giving them small gifts. 
She loved watching Clint Eastwood Westerns, who she dubbed "El Cabito" because of his cigar.  She loved plants and flowers and wherever she lived, she kept gardens. There are so many things that she loved but her love for her family was always evident in all that she did in her life.
She will be missed but deeply cherished in all of our hearts forever. Rest now, Mama.

Calling hours will be Monday, August 31, 5-8pm with the Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, September 1 at 10 am at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 791 Potters Ave., Providence, RI.
