HELEN L. SHERIDAN

 Helen L. Sheridan (Retzer), passed away August 23, 2016 at Hallworth House in Providence. She was the wife of the late John F. Sheridan.

Born in Rochester, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Charles and Ida (Simmons) Retzer. Helen was a graduate of RI Hospital School of Nursing. She was a WWII Veteran, serving with the US Army as a 1st Lieutenant. She was a Registered Nurse for many years, working as Head Nurse at Kent County Hospital until retirement.

She was the mother of Michael J. Sheridan and his wife Barbara, Stephen P. Sheridan, Richard B. Sheridan, John F. Sheridan and Joan Sheridan Doucette and her husband Paul, grandmother of Danielle S. and Brian C. Doucette, great-grandmother of John and Anna Thorley-Doucette. She was sister of the late George, Eugene, Markel, Howard, Martha, Charlotte, Ethel, Eunice and Dorothy Retzer.

Funeral Saturday at 8:45 am from the Jones-Walton-Sheridan Funeral Home, 1895 Broad St. at Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Funeral Service at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 383 Old North Rd., Kingston, at 10:00 am Burial will be at RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter, RI
